Where China sits in the world

What this is

A map of China drawn from boundary files we host ourselves - no map service, no tiles. Tap to drill from the world, to China, to a city.

Why it matters

Where a place sits decides what is possible there. This is the geography layer under every city report we publish.

How to use it

Tap China on the map. Then pick a city. Each city page lists what is actually there, with the recorded figures attached.

What you get

The full geographic view plus 386 city pages, each with its own data. Free to browse.

No map service, no tiles — drawn from the boundary files we host ourselves. Switch to night for our own 40,549 city-light points.

What this is. Three levels of one atlas: the world, China, and Beijing. Only the last two steps are clickable paths — every other country and province is here for orientation. The map is drawn from boundary files we host on this server (world_countries.geojson, china.json), so the page never calls a map service and loads no tiles.

At night. The same map carries a second layer: our own 40,549 city-light points, drawn as one pre-rendered image. Flip the switch above, or open the China by night page for the full-size version.

Where it leads. The Beijing list ends at the Badaling Great Wall lesson — 17 Chinese sentences you would actually say on the way there.
