This life, each stage has things to do and distances that can be calculated.
Stability brings security, but also information closure
It's not "no friends," but "my circle hasn't changed for ten years, and my information source hasn't changed for ten years."
Verification Signals (count as verified if two or more are met):
· No new circle in the past three years
· All information comes from the same group of people
· Being isolated in the workplace or having obvious gaps
Social Asset
This stage's social asset is "cross-circle connections".
The biggest risk after 35 is not the lack of friends, but information closure—you and the people around you think the same, and you can't see other possibilities.
So be deliberate in maintaining:
① A cross-industry circle
② Several younger people
③ Several older people
This kind of people can give you information that others can't.
Have several reliable people
Not be informationally closed
Not be isolated
Definition
Circle Update Rate · Usable Network · Workplace Relationship Quality
How to Calculate
How many new circles have been added in the past three years; whether there are people to talk to in the workplace
Healthy Range
Three years ≥1 new circle · Usable ≥8 people · Workplace has 2-3 trustworthy relationships
Only interact with peers and colleagues —— Information homogenization
Think "Socializing is useless" —— It's the way that has changed, not that it's useless
Work independently in the workplace —— No one to help at critical moments
Think of socializing as a burden —— Reducing can, but not zeroing out
Don't actively maintain old relationships —— Relationships will naturally fade
Enter at least one new circle (industry/interest) every three years
Deliberately get to know several younger and older people
Maintain 2-3 trustworthy relationships in the workplace
Contact old friends once a quarter (no need to have deep conversations)
If isolated: find the cause first, then decide whether to fix or leave
