This life, each stage has things to do and distances that can be calculated.
This stage of choice determines where you are at 40 years old
It's not about 'whether to climb up', but 'whether to go deep or wide, these two paths are completely different'.
Verification Signals (count as verified if two or more are met):
· No position or ability level change in the next five years
· Skills are still at the "execution" level
· No management or leadership experience
Career Asset
Career assets diverge at this stage, two paths:
① Professional Depth——Becoming one of the "most knowledgeable" in a field. The older, the more valuable
② Management Breadth——From "I do well" to "let a group of people do well"
Both paths can be taken, but different assets are needed: depth relies on judgment + case, width relies on people recognition + organization.
The most dangerous is neither deep nor wide: not deep enough, and haven't led anyone.

Definition
Ability level (execution/judgment/decision) · Leadership experience · Irreplaceability
How to calculate
Ask yourself: How much of my work requires judgment, and how much is execution
Healthy Range
Judgment work ≥50% · Have leadership experience · Can explain "why to do so"
Think that years of experience will lead to promotion —— Years of experience is not ability
Only switch to management for salary increase —— Not good at leading people will be very painful
Only do execution and not touch judgment —— Will be replaced at 40
Change direction frequently —— Start over every time
Do not accumulate cases —— Can not explain what I have done
First judge: Am I better at "doing deep" or "leading people"
Choose one, and then do not change for three consecutive years
Do deep: Choose a niche field and become one of the most knowledgeable people
Lead people: Actively seek to lead 1-2 people
Both paths: Accumulate cases that can be displayed
