This life, each stage has things to do and distances that can be calculated.
Not "retiring", but producing value in a different way
Not "Is there enough money," but "What can I do to feel useful."
Verification Signals (count as verified if two or more are met):
· Completely stop any output
· Think "I can't do anything at my age"
· No social participation at all
Career Assets
This stage's career assets are not "position," but "the ability to continuously produce value." Three types:
① Experience——can teach, write, answer
② Skills——can be made into products
③ Time——can be freely arranged
In the network age, all three can be monetized at home: write a paragraph, record a segment, answer a question, make something. No need to go out, no need for physical labor.
And the act of "still being able to create" itself is more important than how much money you make—it determines whether you still have a meaning to live.
Still useful
Have some of my own money
Not empty
Definition
Social participation time · Autonomous income · Externalized output
How to calculate
How many hours per week are spent on "output-producing activities"
Healthy Range
≥5 hours/week · Any autonomous income or output
Think "Old age means resting" —— Resting doesn't mean you have no value, but you don't have to stop creating
Think "I can't do it" —— Start with the smallest thing
Be afraid of being embarrassed —— No one watches the first time you do something
Just want to spend money —— Money will be less, people will be empty
Completelydisconnected from society —— Loneliness is more harmful than money
List the things you know (even if small)
Choose one, make it into a form that can be seen by others
Try it on your phone (send a message, record a segment, answer a question)
Leave 5 hours per week to do "output-producing activities"
Remember: still being able to create is the best retirement
