This life, each stage has things to do and distances that can be calculated.
Anxious when they have a fever, not knowing whether to go to the hospital
It's not that the child is physically weak, but that "every time the child gets sick, I don't know how serious it is, whether to go to the hospital, or whether to take medicine, all rely on guessing."
Verification Signals (more than two are considered):
· ≥8 visits to the hospital in a year
· Not knowing whether to go to the hospital every time the child gets sick
· Unclear about the usage of common medicines (fever-reducing medicine/antibiotics)
Know what situations require hospital visits and what situations can be observed
The child gets sick less often, and I don't have to be anxious all the time
Don't stay up all night when the child has a fever
Definition
Number of hospital visits per year · Number of times antibiotics are used · Growth curve percentile
How to measure
Record for a year: how many times you go to the hospital, whether you use antibiotics; measure height and weight once a month
Healthy Range
≤5 hospital visits per year · ≤1 time of antibiotics per year (not necessary) · Curve in P25–P75
Go to the hospital as soon as the child has a fever —— Risk of cross-infection, and most are viruses, and going to the hospital is just for fever reduction
Take antibiotics as soon as the child has a cough —— Antibiotics are ineffective against viruses, and overuse will destroy the intestinal flora
Retain sweat to reduce fever —— Dangerous, infants and young children may have febrile convulsions
Believe in "boosting immunity" health products —— No reliable evidence, it's better to sleep and nutrition
Stop all activities when the child is sick —— Moderate activity is also needed during the recovery period
First distinguish: viral (drink more water and observe) vs bacterial (need to see a doctor)
Keep a thermometer and fever-reducing medicine at home, know the dosage based on weight
Remember the danger signals: fever in children under 3 months, drowsiness, rapid breathing, seizures → go to the hospital immediately
Common cold: observe for 3 days, do not use antibiotics lightly
Vaccinate according to the national program, self-paid (pneumonia/rotavirus/influenza) evaluate as needed
This is direction and judgment, not diagnosis. Decisions involving medication, examination, and surgery must be made by a doctor.
Go to the hospital immediately if the following situations occur: persistent chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden severe headache, change in consciousness, severe bleeding, high fever lasting more than 3 days.
