Column · product or service
A service requires you to be present for delivery. A product does not. Everything else — quality, price, value — follows from that single difference.
Trust and adaptation. You can charge more because you handle the specific case, and you are limited by hours.
Clarity and repetition. You charge less per unit and can serve people you never meet. The limitation is that the promise must be complete without you.
The usual path is service first, product second — because the service teaches you which part of the work is identical every time. That identical part is the product. Everything else stays a service.
