How to read a competitor job posting

What the posting reveals
The gap they are funding. A company hires for the work it has decided is urgent, and the wording shows which part of the process is hurting.
What to look for
- Repeated roles. Two of the same title means the work is larger than one person, or the previous person left.
- Unusual combinations. One role covering two unrelated skills means the process is thin in two places.
- Seniority inflation. A senior title for routine work means they cannot retain people at that level.
How to use it
Not to copy their roadmap. To find the step they are currently paying someone to do manually, which is often the step worth productising.
