The cheapest way to test a market

2026-10-19 · InfoGap

The test

  1. Write the sentence the buyer would type.
  2. Write one page that answers it exactly, with the price visible.
  3. Put a real payment link on it, not an email form.
  4. Wait for a stranger.

Why a payment link and not a form

A form measures intention, and intention is cheap. A payment link measures exchange, and exchange is the only thing that funds the next step. The click that does not complete is informative; the expression of interest is not.

What counts as a result

One completed payment from someone with no relationship to you. Not a view, not a signup, not a message. That single transaction tells you the sentence was real, the page was clear enough, and the price was low enough for someone to risk it.

The cost

A page, a sentence, a payment link and some waiting. The expensive part is not the test; it is the discipline of not building the product before the test says the sentence exists.
